Remember when we said we needed to take a short break? Turns out what we really needed were some larger, longer-term By Little adjustments.
The two of us have undergone some pretty significant life changes, and as a result, we won’t be able to sustain a weekly publishing cadence. So here’s how we’re going to move forward:
All By Little content will now be FREE.
Yep, essays too. This means we’ll be refunding Paid Subscribers the FULL amount they’ve submitted to By Little since the beginning of their subscriptions. If you’re a paid subscriber, stay tuned for another email with more details about that.
If you’re a free subscriber, go check out our essays:
We’ll keep publishing podcast episodes and essays whenever we can.
The By Little project is SO close to our hearts. We’re not ready to end it, but we also won’t be able to sustain a regular publishing frequency over the next few months. This means we’ll be releasing podcast episodes and essays on a “when we have time” basis. While this isn’t ideal (we love consistency as much as anyone), it is better than us stopping production altogether. Why?
Because we believe in By Little’s mission.
And creating By Little content has been one of the most rewarding projects the two of us have ever been a part of. For one thing, we love collaborating with each other, and we’re so grateful By Little has enabled us to do that. For another, By Little has brought us into contact with some truly inspiring change agents. Our podcast guests and essay experts have given us a lot of hope in humanity. They’ve also catalyzed some of the changes we’re experiencing now.
Courtney started working for Backrs.
If you listened to our third podcast episode, “Students Get Ahead When Mentors Have Their Backs,” you know the company Backrs is leveraging tech to empower high-performing but under-resourced students with the social and financial capital they need to succeed. What you might not know is that Courtney was so moved by the interview, she reached out to see if the company needed any marketing or communications help. They did, and she’s honored to say that she’s now a part of the Backrs team.
Thamarrah helped Leroy Jones demo his debut video game.
We interviewed 3D Dojo Studios founder, Leroy Jones for an upcoming By Little episode to learn how he’s creating opportunity for diverse talent in the video game industry. While the episode is currently in our queue, Jones demoed 3D Dojo Studios’ debut title, Da Paper Boy at Steam Next Fest. Building a game, releasing a demo and participating in Steam Next Fest are all mammoth undertakings, so Thamarrah jumped in to support. Countless people have already wishlisted Jones’ game. If you like gaming, you’ll love Da Paper Boy. Go wishlist it today!
We are so grateful for you.
Your support has meant the world to us. While it makes us sad that we won’t be able to keep up the publishing frequency we originally intended, we’re excited for the new opportunities By Little has offered us, and we look forward to releasing more content in the future. Thank you so much for believing in us and for being a part of the By Little project. It’s an honor to be working towards better together with you.
Much Love,
Thamarrah and Courtney
